The Marvels of Origami: A Hands-on Math Workshop

Modern day origami is revolutionizing industrial design, medicine, architecture, robotics, et al, as scientists and engineers discover practical applications of this traditional Japanese art.

This workshop will excite participants about the traditional Japanese art of paper folding, as well as give them an exposure to its practical, modern-day applications. Basic origami techniques will aid children’s spatial perception & sequential thinking. Through several engaging projects, students will explore the artistic and design-related aspects of origami, and will also try to come up with hands-on solutions for real-world problems.
